Question 1

I recently purchased the SABRENT USB-STP3 USB 2.0 to SATA 1.8"/2.5"/3.5"/5.25"/SSD Hard Drive & CD/DVD-RW Adapter.
It worked perfectly for 2 of my lap top drives, but not on my 3.5 drives. It seems like there is no power going into it. Can you help?

I haven't had any issue with the adapter what-so-ever. With the 1.8", I haven't had enough of a chance to use it. The 2.5/3.5/5.25" drives have not had any issues. I have had the best success with the Laptop Disk Drives/ slot.

I think, what might be wrong for you, is that you need to add a power source to your 3.5" drives. If it doesn't work directly with the adapter, you might need an external power source (sounds a bit far-fetched/ redundant, but it's worth a shot).

Does anyone know if this works with a Samsung MZRPC256HADR ssd drive?

t has worked with every other type of drive I've attached it to.  Haven't used it with an SSD though.  I can't see why it wouldn't work.  Worth it to have just in case.

Thanks in advance for any help. I am a IT professional and I work with Dell ultrabook Mostly Latitude 7440 and 7450 but not limited to daily and often we have to pull data from the drive when the OS wont boot. Since the newer ultrabooks come with Lite-on 1.8" mSATA drives I have been looking for a universal adapter that works with 1.8/2.5/3.5" drives. so my question is has anyone had hands on experience with this adapter working with 1.8" mSATA drives?
And if this will not work with 1.8" mSATA drives do you have any recommendations for an adapter that does work with 1.8" mSATA drives along with 2.5/3.5 SATA drives?

I am not sure about the 1.8" msata but if it behaves like it has with all the rest, you should not have any problem.  It has saved people I did work for many hassles and lost documents or pictures.  Works like a charm.  Just wish it was USB 3.0.
