Yes - there is an angle at the bottom of the portion the keyboard rests against to hold it in place.  it is just about an inch and when folded there is also the thickness of the base (another eighth or so) added to it .  It folds and fits nicely into a carrier bag over the closed laptop without any problem and that includes not catching on the bag itself.
