The system itself does plug in USB. As far as I know you cannot use the flight stick as a stand alone piece.  The two pieces are connected by a dual male end PS/2 cable

NO Saitek has not released any drivers for Windows 10. None of their devices work on Windows 10 currently and there is no eta on a driver for Windows 10.

Is it compatible with the Windows 8.1 OS?

It works great with windows 7.  I would imagine it works with windows 8.1 as well since it has the exact same core as windows 7.  This hotas product can work as a normal joystick, but it also comes with software that can map all of the buttons to work like a keyboard.  The only concern I had was keeping the joystick and throttle from moving while using it.  I drilled 4 holes in my keyboard tray, 2 for each, and then put long bolts through the throttle and joystick.  I used washers and wing nuts so I could remove it easily.   The joystick and throttle have a hole in each corner for this, so I didn't have to modify the x52 at all.

I see that there is an old photo in the section where the photos of the product are available to see. Does this mean I won't know which version I will get? I am looking to get the newer one.

I wasn't aware of any old versions being available for sale. This is the X52 Pro; however you can buy a regular X52 for a little cheaper (the one with blue lights).

I bought the X52 Pro last year, and it's proven to be an excellent HOTAS for the money. If you order from this page, that's the product you will get.

Was the current stock for this item manufactured before or after madcatz acquisition of Saitek and CyborgGaming?

It is MadCatz, but the quality is still the same as Saitek. They recycled the use of the original manufacturing process (Using the same molds and circuitry, etc) and the build qwuality is still similar. You may only see a difference in the p lastics used for the body at best. After my 10+ year old Saitek X-52 died I did a lot of research into it and found no issues with replacing it with the X-52 Pro, Regardless of Saitek stock or not.

Anyone use the code for E:D yet? Can I use the code to get it on Steam?

The answer to this questions is YES! You can use this code on steam!! You just need to register for an account on Frontier, enter the code, input a billing address, go to "Partner Keys," and then link your frontier account with Steam.

Copy the partner key. Log in to Steam. Click "Games" at the top in Steam. Click "Activate a Product on Steam." Follow the prompts and paste the game code when prompted. When successful, view your game inventory and hit install next to the greyed out E:D.

Is this product comparable with Apple iMac?

Saitek has a software download for Mac OS's on it's web site. It states that a separate driver download is not required.

Has anyone tried this out on Linux (Debian?)? Does it work, and can all the buttons (and sub-modes etc) be programmed? I'm planning to use it for Oolite on Linux, so if anyone has experience with that game and this stick, a reply would be much appreciated.

Is this controller compatible with Labview? I was thinking that this would be a good controller to use for FRC competitions to control the robot. Would it work for that?
