SAMSUNG 206BW 20" WSXGA+ 1680 x 1050 D-Sub, DVI-D LCD Monitor

Pros: 1680x1050 and not one dead pixel! I'm using this with Windows Vista Premium and the picture is gorgeous. I've watched movies, played a few games, and watched some TV shows as well. The brightness/contrast is unmatched. I was pinching pennies at the time I bought this and almost went with a 20" Viewsonic instead but am SO glad I went this route. The dual inputs are easy to switch between (simply hit a button on the front of the display). Adjusting the contrast, etc is equally easy. The aesthetics of the display are excellent as well. ALSO - IT DOES COME WITH A DVI CABLE!!! When I bought mine the newegg description did not list a DVI cable so I bought a separate one. Don't do that - Samsung does provide one.

Cons: Zilch. nada. There is nothing a reasonable person could complain about .

Overall Review: Samsung makes among the best displays for computers and TVs. To save a few pennies I almost bought the 19" model. Spend the few extra bucks to get the 20!!! This is something you'll still have long after you replace the components in your PC. Do not skimp on your display. This should be the one you get! :) Also, do yourself a favor and ignore some of the reviews you'll see on "magazine" sites that complain about rendering in the corners of wide screen displays. This thing is beautiful all around.

Pros: Perfect. No dead pixles, no issues of any kind. Even the bezel and outward design are very well executed. A big plus is the VGA and DVI inputs.

Overall Review: Beyond the things mentioned under "pros," a huge plus of this monitor is the multiple inputs. I'm running two computers off this one monitor: a Mac mini through VGA, and a gaming rig through DVI. All I have to do is hit the "source" button to switch between them. In fact, this monitor was recommended to me by a friend, who runs his Xbox 360 through the VGA, and his computer linked up to DVI. Overall, and especially considering the price, this is essentially the best 20" monitor you can get. I could have gotten a $600 Apple display, but this one blows it out of the water spec-wise, for less than half the price. Really, a no-brainer. Even if you're considering a different size, stick with Samsung. I've been using them since the early days of consumer LCDs, and have zero problems to report.

Pros: The picture is very beautiful, no dead pixels (after 8 months), no strange hues, very little light bleeds in when viewing dark images.

Cons: The stated viewing angle is exaggerated. The picture looks its best when looking slightly down at the screen. When I watch movies while laying on my bed however (looking up at approx. 45 degree angle), dark colors become metallic looking and are nearly impossible to distinguish from each other. My other complaint is that I had trouble figuring out how to use the manual controls. There was no helpful guide to using the controls in my box and the automated software prevented me from just making changes intuitively. I am just now figuring out how to adjust the brightness and contrast, which have been shown as "locked" since I first set it up. Even now, half the time I try to adjust the settings I get a list of presets, and the other times I get tunable percentage bars. idk what's up with that.

Overall Review: While I did do substantial research in preparation for buying this monitor, it is my first LCD. So I can't comment very well on how it compares to other LCDs outside of normal work usage.

Pros: gorgeous display. Colors are bright,vivid. Contrast is nice.I set brightness to 4 and contrast to 4 and its still amazing to look at. Incredible.I like the single button to change input. My present monitor is Acer which is gorgeous too but a pain to change inputs. This is the main reason I went with samsung over acer even though it costs $70 more.And that its got good reviews already.Pixels are all fine.Like the 1650x1080 res.But its only at 60Hz.:( Games look and play well.The magic color/tune settings are good.DVI cable came with it.Nice 2 tone look.

Cons: I sometimes see some ghosting.Refresh rate is low. I get choice of 59Hz or 60Hz only.Haven't tested with fast moving video yet, but I will soon.

Pros: -Widescreen is amazing -Colors are vibrant, no noticeable ghosting detected -No dead pixels -Glossy piano finish looks nice -Thank you Newegg for 2 day shipping.

Cons: -There's definitely an audible buzzing sound when the brightness is on low. As long as you keep the brightness on a high setting this isn't a major problem. -No height adjustment, if you're taller than 6', toss a book under the base. -My 6800GT definitely cannot handle HL2 in the native resolution.. time for an upgrade.

Overall Review: I received an A-panel if you're worried about the samsung "lottery." The brightness emanating out from the power button can be easily ignored.

Pros: Awesome picture, Awesome brightness. This thing is just perfect.

Cons: Not really a con, but if brightness is all the way up then its too bright and I have to turn it down for nighttime use. Also though, as others have mentioned that on an all black screen you see lightness at the top and bottom of the screen from the backlight, but I dont really care because this thing is just too freakin sweet.

Overall Review: I took my time on considering what monitor I would get, this is the first one I looked at and I looked at many others and nothing was better... especially for the price.

Pros: I am probably going to buy this at a retail store. Newegg accepted my claim smoothly without any problems. This is called true business.

Cons: Highly Sensitive to Vibrations. UPS mistreated my package, could have been the cause of the excessive damage I experienced at the time of installation.

Overall Review: I once owned this monitor for about a week, and wasn't aware that it arrived defective. However, I am now making a reconsideration of purchasing this, as I know now where to purchase. Samsung manufactures good panels only when do it themselves without the need of other companies such as AU Optronics, and ChiMei. Go Newegg!
