Is this compatible with the msi z97i ac motherboard?

I don't think so, as i'm looking it looks like it only has sata 6gbs and some esata ports on the back, no place for an msata hard drive to even be mounted. I would just get any other drive (hdd ro sdd) that your case is set up for (2.5" or 3.5")- if this is a must buy for you there are adapters out there so you can have the connectors and mount it in a standard 2.5" bay.

I will buy if this would work in Dell XPS-15 (L521X)?

I have no hands on knowledge of that Dell model, but every technical reference I found for it looks like it should work just fine, though one place said you will wont be able to use factory restore, so plan on doing a clean Windows install.

Question 3

Will this fit (and work) in the newest Apple Macbook Pro (13") with retina? The installed ssd is much longer but is also made by samsung. I dont care if it doesnt screw in as long as it wont break or come out. Thanks!!!

No, it will not work.  Mac uses pcie ssd, and this is msata.  Although the connector is same, they are not compatible.

Is this backwards compatible with mSATA II?

Yes it is. The systems that I installed these cards in supports only mSATA II. It works very well.

This laptop does have an mSATA slot so you'd be fine to install this.

I read on MSI forums, there could be warranty issues if you modify the laptop so you might want to consider that.

Would this work in a Gigabyte Brix - GB-BXi3-4010? I'm having issues getting a video signal and it's not the RAM.
