Have to find a motherboard that will accept an m sata solid-state state drive, search for motherboards that have a m data slot, will probably be an older mother board

Will this fit a Toshiba Portege z930?

It will not. The Intel Chipset on your motherboard will only handle a SATA II or SATA - 300 @ 3.0Gb/s Interface. The motherboard doesn't have a mSATA slot either. You could get a SATA card that will fit a mSATA SSD. Newegg sells a SYBA SY-ADA40050 Mini-SATA to 2.5" SATA Adapter. If you still have a Hard Disk Drive installed, you should be able to swap it out with a 2.5" SATA SSD. One from Western Digital, PNY, SANDISK, or Samsung would do nicely and still improve performance, greatly. They will not run at 6.0Gb/s, but will still very noticeably increase the speed and response of your machine.

Is this compatible with a Dell E7450?

Check your Dell Owners manual to see if your E7450 has an mSATA socket on the motherboard.  Make sure you identify your specific configuration.  Most laptops have several versions (yours has i3, i5 and i7 variants).  For example, my HP Starwars laptop is the model that does not have an M.2 socket, but some do.  My old XPS laptop is not the one that will hold 16Gb of RAM, but there is a variant that will.
