SAMSUNG 920NW 19" WXGA+ 1440 x 900 D-Sub LCD Monitor

Pros: Just received the monitor today and I am completely impressed with the nice sharpness, brightness and color performance. Nice sleek look too. In fact, I am ordering a second one for the office now.

Cons: None.

Pros: Great screen, everything comes out clear with bright colors and contrast.

Cons: Although it's claimed to work with Windows Vista, I haven't been able to use it since I upgraded a week ago to Vista Ultimate, despite being able to with XPSP2.

Overall Review: Good product, even if you can't get it to work with Vista.

Pros: I purchased two of these monitors and they look fantastic. I was skeptical about not having DVI however, VGA looks fine. There are no dead pixels or any other issues.

Cons: With the exception of not having DVI. Nothing Significant To Report.

Pros: Nice monitor that is easy to set up. The base snaps in with a special thumb screw so you don't even need a screw driver. No dead pixels.

Overall Review: I bought a Samsung 20" a couple of years ago and was so pleased I bought this one for a client. Very nice for the price.

Pros: Newegg always rocks and got the monitor to me quickly. The monitor has a nice design.

Cons: I'm building a computer for my grandmother for Christmas and this was the monitor I chose to go with it. The monitor had these slightly different colored vertical lines on the screen towards the middle of the screen. Whenever I moved a window with text through the lines, the text in the windows would get darker. This is my first Samsung monitor, but I've never seen that problem on any other Samsung monitor. I changed the resolution and hooked the monitor up to different computers and still got the same problem. Ended up sending the thing back.

Pros: This monitor does the job, but only has average image quality. For my purposes, it works fine. If you are hoping to do video or photo editing, you may want to look for a monitor with better image quality and color reproduction.

Cons: The monitor seems to be brighter on the left than the right. Also, the colors seem to be off. I have tried adjusting everything (monitor and display properties) with little improvement. There is also significant back light bleed when viewing dark images or movies. The brightness/contrast seemed to be over the top. I had to turn them both down quite a bit. The included image profiles for movies, sport, games, etc set the monitor up to look terrible. I'm not sure what they were thinking there. I probably would not buy this monitor again and would have returned if it wasn't for the restocking fee and return shipping charges.

Overall Review: Overall it's an ok monitor for the price. I use it for a secondary desktop PC and it works fine.

Pros: Very satisfied with this product. My RTL monitor fried out & I needed a new monitor ASAP. Decided to give this newegg site a shot and glad I did. Box arrived in 3 days standard shipping method. Monitor arrived in perfect condition, no dead pixels or any other defects. Works Great for games from what I’ve seen so far. no ghosting or blurred imaging. Loved that!

Cons: I’m not use to viewing in widescreen but I’m sure it’ll grow on me.

Pros: Very sharp text and good colors. Well made. Even though the base does not have a height adjustment, it is at the right height. No dead pixels (at least I haven't found any yet).

Cons: As is true with most LCDs I have viewed, you have reduce the brightness and tweak the contract a bit in order to insure that subtle details don't get washed out. But the adjustments are there, and it doesn't take long.

Overall Review: I was initially wary of "widescreens" for business use, but I am sold. A 19" 1440x900 LCD has a pixel size of .285mm. Larger widescreen LCDs (20" or above) may have higher resolution but they also have smaller pixels (1680x1050, with .258mm pixels, for example), so that you must play much more with Windows text size adjustments to see text well. The largest pixel size of all is a 19" 1280x1024 LCD (at .294mm), but the wider screen is better for me now because I wear "transitions" eyeglasses which have the reading portion on the lower half of the lenses. Therefore, a lower, wider screen means I have to crane my neck up much, much less. Sometimes, these little details matter. A bigger screen with higher resolution is not always better in all circumstances.
