what do you use this for?

These are USB "flash drives" used for storing from a computer pictures videos programs or any other files as needed. You basically can copy files from computer to this drive and then take and use it on another computer as needed. I use mine for transferring home videos to other family members computers. But you can use it for pretty much anything you need it for as far as data storage goes. Works very well and is metal case so it is tough. Dissipates heat well too when under heavy loads.

Does anyone know if the flash in this is slc or mlc or tlc? I want durability and would like to know.

You are a bit naiive. In 2019-2020 nobody manufactures MLC flash drives, most of NVMe SSDs are TLSs these day, including Intel Data Center NVMe SSDs. Samsung might still make some NVMe SSDs with MLC NAND
