Is the monitor Plug and Play (via the HDMI) or do the drivers need to be installed before it's able to be
seen by the computer?

It works fine without installing the drivers. To get the best performance install the drivers as quickly as you can. Windows 10 might even have the drivers for it.

Can it be mounted? say on a arm mount?

Yes, it has standard 3" mounting holes on the back. I have mine mounted on an old Gateway lift mount arm that I've always loved. It fit with no problem. The curve is not enough to affect the mounting area in the middle of the back.

Is the 4ms response time noticeable for gaming?

I don't really care 4ms or 2ms response. The most annoying thing is about the internet ping!

is this a split screen panaramic monitor?

No ,as far as I know this is not a split screen, If it were , I would never use it as a split screen, I do enjoy a larger screen, and cutting it up , into smaller sizes, would not help me out.  I really don't know why a person would want a split screen ,on a computer monitor, You can size and resize , images, as you like, in Windows.  The only time a split screen has any function is a TV monitor ,in my opinion.

I have had this monitor about two months now ,with out any problems.  I own the 34 inch Samsung, I also enjoy a Samsung TV, that I have had several years. I have always been quit pleased with the build of Samsung,  Had a small service problem with the Samsung TV and service was great.  Was taken care of right a way, with no problems at all.  No hassle at all. Called and a service man was out on the call right away.

Is the test clear on this monitor?

Which test?  Monitor is excellent for the price and has 1920 by 1080 resolution.  Vivid colours.

Would appreciate knowing the precise screen display size in height & width, NOT including the bezels, i.e., the actual screen display? Thanks.

It's a curved screen, which makes that answer a bit tricky. If you go straight across, ignoring the curve, the width of the actual display (inside the bezel) is 70cm. If you follow the curve of the screen, that number goes up to about 71.5cm. Top to bottom, inside the bezel, the display is 39.5cm. It isn't curved on that axis. Hope this helps!

The short answer is NO, I have never seen them available in black. The black ones that we have found that are the same size do not have as good reviews... I own an IT company and have been buying these for a long time. Every customer loves them - we even have 20 of them around our office, so if you go with the white one - you will be pleased.

Does this monitor have Freesync? Some sites are saying it does but I can't get a definitive answer anywhere.

No Freesync. I was disappointed when I got it. But I still love the Monitor. Games look awesome. The description needs to be fixed.

Will this monitor convert an analog input to digital ? I have a wireless TV receiver with standard RCA output terminals. Do I need an external converter or will a simple RCA to HDMI cable work?

I don't understand the question. Curved monitors/screen makers should be providing what??? This is my first curved monitor and it took a little time to get used to. Very nice monitor. I've never had a bad product from Samsung!
