I cannot speak to whether it supports Windows 8 or not. Our school district is an all Mac district. I would assume that it does but I just don't have any Windows 8 clients to verify this for you.

Since this is a monochrome (meaning black and white) printer, the answer is no, it cannot print colour pictures.

No, it does not. Just a printer.

No, there is just a wired Ethernet port. In the model number N stands for Ethernet network, D stands for duplex. Great printer if you can connect it with an Ethernet cable.

no, this is just a black and white laser printer ... I've had many of this brand over the years and have fount them to be pretty good and very cost-effective.

Samsung toner is $115!!!   is the toner refillable by tone refill kit?

The high-yield cartridge is pricy, but you can get the lower capacity D203S for around $75. I'm not a fan of toner refill kits - you can make a HUGE mess.

This model does not. However, you connect it to the newer wifi routers via usb. By doing this, I can print from my smartphone, tablet, and a desktop via wifi. This is a very good printer for the price.

Linux compatibility?

I am running the printer on Ubuntu 12.04 with no problems. These are my notes.

Redown'd, rextracted and ran install script under sudo.
Used V 4.01.17
Problem was I'd looked at install scripts w/gedit, and inadvertently set it as default open app.
After that, I inadvertently clobbered the files. 
LATER, printer driver kept turning itself OFF.   Solution was to delete (-) and readd (+)

I don't know I never have needed one my printer works great and does a lot of printing at times then sets for a few days before used again.
