Question 1

Hi, my computer is older but my monitor is about to go. Since I am upgrading my monitor now and my computer in about a year I want a very good monitor that will work for me now and next year when I upgrade. My concern is that this monitor will not work with my current setup. I currently have windows xp and my graphics card is nvdia geforce 9600 gt. Will this work?

Accepted Answer

Hi Lynn,

If your graphics card supports HDMI or VGA, then you should be good to go. I believe your card supports HDMI. If not, new computers certainly do.

Hope this helps.

Question 2

My laptop only has an HDMI slot (no VGA slot), I'd like to setup a second monitor for work. Can I do that with this monitor?

Accepted Answer

Yes - it has both VGA and HDMI inputs, I have mine setup to use VGA on my laptop and HDMI for my satellite receiver - but keep in mind this monitor has no speakers so HDMI only passes video - if your laptop has speakers you're good to go, but on mine since I'm using HDMI on the sat then I needed to provide seperate audio to speakers. Doesn't come with an HDMI cable either so you'll need to supply that.

Question 3

Hello,

Do I need voltage converter for this monitor? I bought it couple weeks ago and plan to give it as a gift to my parents who live in Europe but power voltage there is 240. Please let me know when you have a chance.

Thank you,
Desi

Desi,

I really do not know. I bought it for my daughter and she's using it in college.

It definitely requires and adapter for the plug, but I do not know if it is compatible with 240. Sorry.
