No. Even the product picture is a bit misleading as the screen is vertical and not tilted like in the picture. This is one of my few gripes about the monitor, so its not like I have sour grapes or anything.

The monitor swivels forward and back, and you can turn the stand side to side.  The height is not adjustable.  I've had this monitor few over a month and love it.

Monitors are not OS specific, so this will work with any computer: XP, Vista, Win7 or 8, Linux or Mac. The only thing you need to do is make sure that you have the right connectors, ie: VGA, HDMI, or DVI. If I recall, this has HDMI and VGA, the two most common formats. Great monitor for great price.

i specifically desire a GLOSSY SCREEN, and prefer the black 'frame' to be glossy black.  my input is 'glossy screen' is this indeed a glossy screen?

Does it have an HDMI out?

HDMI OUT? If your question is Can I plug an HDMI able into the back of the monitor to use it in HDMI, then Yes. If you are asking if you can plug in an HDMI cable to the back of the monitor to send it's video OUT for another device to display, then no, but that would seem unnecessary to begin with since you would just relocate the HDMI in the rear of the monitor to the new viewing device.

No, the height is fixed. One can only tilt the screen forward and back with very limited range.

I do not power this 23" LCD monitor using batteries. I use the included power adapter that provides the monitor with 14V DC at 2.14A. Perhaps your question refers to a different product than this Samsung monitor.

Is this compatible for dual-monitor or tri-monitor setups? If I buy two, how will that set-up?

Yes you can use this for dual monitors. It has a hdmi and vga output. You will have to have a motherboard that has two outputs or a video card that supports dual monitors.

Does this monitor have speakers?  Does it adjust up and down?

no speakers and no height adjusters.  the primary features of this is a crisp immage, being 23", and the HDMI input. (unless it's changed, the mini-hdmi cable was not included)
