How can I connect this Monitor to a dvi Video connector of my Old pc?

You can use a VGA/DVI adapter or a VGA/DVI cable. The adapters are a dime a dozen and usually you can probably find someone who has a bunch stored away collecting dust who'll part with it. Otherwise it'll run you a couple dollars.

Does the monitor come with integrated speakers?

No, but there is a sound/out port very close to the HDMI input.
Since HDMI is, in theory (I don't study the electronics) a high-quality late technology, I would hope that the proximity of the standard stereo sound-out port could deliver nicely for a small pair of Bose, etc. That's my plan eventually, for this monitor.

This monitor is not glossy. Does the description refer to just the glossy bezel? I was expecting the screen to be glossy.

Yes, as you can see in the description, it reads "Cabinet Color
Black High Glossy ToC", referring to the cabinet/stand. It's very rare to find an IPS panel of this quality with a glossy finish at anywhere near this price point.

That is part of the confusion of Windows 8. Microsoft assumes everyone using Win8 has a touch screen. Anytime you put a disc, external hard drive, or USB memory stick you will see the tap or touch to continue screen. Just use your mouse to click.

I'm using this monitor as a second screen, however whenever I open up google chrome I find that the audio only comes through the monitors audio jack instead of the computers audio jack. is there a way I can disable this feature?

Is all sound from your computer coming through the monitor's jack?  Windows has probably decided to make the monitor the primary output for sound.

Go to the sound section in your control panel, and you should see at least two devices (one for your monitor, and another for the output you want).  Click on the desired output, and click on set default.  Not sure if you need to reboot your computer/restart the application for the change to take effect.

Otherwise try looking around in device manager for the HDMI audio device, and try disabling it entirely.

1st thing I need to know is! Is the screen glossy or matte?
You never show this, only if glossy surrounding(housing),
I do not care about housing! screen is the selling point:)

The screen finish seems exactly the same as the monitor this replaced, a Samsung Syncmaster 740N, and exactly the same as my Samsung LNS3251D 32" LCD TV:

I had never thought about how to characterize the finish.

I wouldn't call it matte, nor would I call it glossy.

All three will show a highly muted, definite foggy reflection of anything put up close to it when it is turned off.

If my only two choices are "matte" and "glossy," having done some of my own b&w photography and worked as a professional furniture designer/builder, I have those backgrounds to evaluate finish, so I would say "matte" but with a slight out of focus reflection.

I don't think anyone would benefit from a truly "matte" lcd screen, as in a "matte" paper for b&w photography. With that level of "matte," too much of the light would get defused.

I've used this for text, digital photo images, and dvd.

Without installing the cd, it appears that either Win7 includes special drivers already for this type of Samsung, or the Magic Bright code is built in on an eprom or similar: The picture can be set for "Custom," "Standard," ""Cinema," and "Dynamic Contrast."

It definitely needs to be changed to "Cinema" when viewing a non-studio dvd with normal motion.

With, say, a Paramount produced dvd, there is only a slight change when switching from MagicBright "Standard" to "Cinema," but with "Cinema," with a major studio dvd, a discerning eye will notice a small but richer quality of image in a variety of ways.

Other than that, I switch it back to "Standard."

I'm totally satisfied, although the "touch" menu buttons are sometimes not as responsive as I would like, but that may be also due to the nature of that technology. This monitor seems about the same or better in terms of touch menu response compared with my major brand digital lcd camera.
