If I connect Xboxone or PS4 with HDMI, will it support the sound as well with one HDMI cable?

Yes. As long as you use Audio-capable HDMI cabling, but most are now. I have it straight from my MacBook Pro with an HDMI and sound ports through the HDMI, into the Samsung TV, and out to whatever playback output I choose...in this case its a 2.1 Dolby stereo setup from Creative, that outputs from the TV through a 3.5mm headphone jack on the back.

You can't beat the price and the versatility.

Question 2

How well does this work as a Computer monitor?  I need a larger monitor for my laptop to do CAD work.  It needs to have computer monitor level performance.  Will this model work, is there a better one, or do I need to stick with a dedicated computer monitor?  I'd really like to use this as a TV occasionally but primary purpose is as a computer monitor.  Thanks

I use it as a computer monitor, and it works great except for a couple things.  One is that there is only one HDMI and one VGA input.  I don't know why they bother with a VGA input -- the image quality is terrible because the monitor resolution is so high.  That means I have to share the one HDMI input between my computer and my Xbox, which is a little annoying.  The other minor complaint is that it doesn't have just a simple power button on the monitor itself.  It has a multidirectional all purpose button that you have to press in, then press down, then press in again to turn the monitor off. I end up just using the remote even though I'm sitting less than 3 feet away.  Otherwise, as far as video performance goes, I think it's great.

Can the USB port in the back of this monitor be used for with a USB hub to control the keyboard and mouse? I would like to only have to hook the HDMI directly to my laptop only. Then powering on the Monitor will allow the keyboard and mouse to control the laptop. Is this possible with this model or is it only for media input for the monitor?

HDMI-to-HDMI on my desktop gives poor results. Setup is tricky and complex to get a half-way clear picture in monitor mode. I am going to try D-sub connection next. This is first time I have had a problem with the HDMI-to-HDMI connection method. Hopefully, the C550 is not more TV and less Monitor. I assumed the USB port was limited functionality.

Can you plug in a USB External HDD?

Yes you can (just tested it with a Samsung 1TB external HDD)..but..it uses the software built into the monitor to view the files/music/videos not the operating system on your computer. If you are just using this as a TV then you will not be bothered by this, and it worked (with the little bit I messed with it) decently well.

Is the refresh rate 60 or 120Hz?

I could not find the answer in the manual or on the box.  Samsung tech support will be the best place for the answer.  I can say the picture using VGA and HDMI ports look great for day to day tasks and hours of Minecraft gaming fun. :)  I'm very happy with it.  I scaled down from a Viewsonic 27 LCD due to age of the failing Viewsonic. :)

Yes you can.  It doesn't seem like it at first, but just push firmly on the top or bottom edge and it does tilt.

Anyone know what the input lag is on this monitor? Maybe I'm not that good, but with my 100ms lag from my connection I can't afford another 45ms lag from my monitor. Note: the 2ms response time isn't the input lag time. Thanks.

I have samsung T240HD, 5 ms response time.  no unusual thing noticed.  I don't really know what "lag" means.  sound lag behind video or the blur of moving object. sorry.
