How does one change the height [lower the monitor on the stand]?

You just grab it and more it to the new height. When you let go, it stays in place. There's a counterbalance mechanism so you're not actually lifting the weight of the monitor to raise it. Nicely designed.

Question 2

Does this monitor support 2 PC inputs.  Can I hook up 2 PCs and switch back and forth between them?

You can run as many as 4 inputs simultaneously using the split screen function, or you can manually toggle from one input to another.  Be sure your graphics card supports whatever option you choose.

Can this monitor mount on the wall?

The monitor comes with a wall mount bracket that can be installed in place of the stand, providing a 100mm x 100mm VESA mounting interface.

Of note also, it says to mount the product on a wall, ensure you purchase a wall-mount kit that can be installed 10 cm or farther away from the wall. Not clear on what this means but the monitor is about 2.5 inches deep so it can't be nearly flat against the wall like a modern TV.

Is this a matte or glossy display?

I am not really sure what means per se. That is to say, I don't really know how to gauge whether how shinny a display has to be in order to be considered glossy and how dull it would have to be in order to be matte. If I saw the two side by side it would not be a question, but I really have no point of reference. I have a Wacom Cintiq 27QHD and it is has much more shinny finish than this Samsung monitor. Not sure that is helpful at all.

Question 5

Has anyone done any 60hz gaming on this? If so, any ghosting or noticeable lag?

I have this monitor running at 60Hz on DisplayPort, and on The Elder Scrolls Online, there is major input lag and major ghosting. It's a shame because for photos the colours are amazing vs a TN panel.

Question 6

Anything to prevent me from using it to replace my Samsung 1080p HDTV for 100% Windows Media Center video content, broadcast TV shows, Bluray etc?  I am curious if this would work better or the same as a Samsung 40" 4K television set.  I don't need the Smart functions, but I am really addicted to color accuracy, gamma, contrast, and I shoot my own 4K video content.  I want to stay with a 32" set, but they don't make TV sets in 4K and 32".

This is a 4K computer monitor, not a TV, so I don't know what would happen if you send 1080p content to it.   4k works great but the only input source I have tried is an Apple Mac Pro (Late 2013) with both HDMI and Thunderbolt 2.   I have not tried any other 4k devices with the monitor.

Is the display technology TN, IPS, or something else ?

I do not know the details of the LCD technology they use, but the brightness, viewing angle, uniformity, dynamic range and color gamut are absolutely first rate, both from a perceptual viewpoint and as measured with my Spyder color calibrator.

Question 8

Will this allow me to replace two monitors with one screen, but permit window in a window, ex:  I can have email on one screen, and work on something else in another?

If you're running a Mac, El Capitan has split screen built in. Also there are multiple 3rd party apps that let you split your screen in multiple configurations. Check out Divvy, or Moom.

Question 9

Will a quarto FX 5800 card drive this monitor?

Accepted Answer

No, the maximum resolution for the Quadro FX5800 is 2560x1600 at 60Hz. It won't be the right card for this.
