Will this work on my Samsung Galaxy S9 phone?

It definitely should. Works fine in my Note 8, so size won't be an issue. I have no performance issues, either - it's plenty fast.

The Insta360 is listed as being able to use a 128gb A1, I was told that the A2 would not be able to be used at it's full potential (when used together)... my question is, does anyone know if the Insta360 will malfunction? or will it just use what writing power it needs? and in addition to that question, will the 128gb A2 make reading speeds faster when taking Insta360 info off the card and transferred onto my computer?

I have no idea what insta360 is but regardless of the speed of the media it cannot function at a speed higher than the host's maximum. i.e. installing a 550Mb/sec SATAIII SSD in a laptop with a SATAII interface will limit transfer speeds to less than 300Mb/sec.
