Does this flash drive have a light to signal when it's connected?

Yes this drive does have a light to signal when connected.  The red "slider" illuminates when the drive is connected to the computer, and the computer "sees" it.  It flashes as data is written to/read from as well.

WHAT DOES USB PORT 2.0 MEAN.  IS THIS A NEW SIZE PORT?

USB 2.0 or High Speed USB is the standard that the port uses. In the past USB 1.0 and 1.1 existed during windows 98 era, USB 2.0 has been around a long time and now USB 3.0 (SUper Speed) is the king. The main thing to know about the difference between them is there Read and Write rates. With USB 1 you could get upto about 12Mb/s, USB 2 is upto 30-40MB/s, and USB is 50-200MB/s depending on the quality of the drives.
