Question 1

Does this product come with a 3.5 drive bay adapter?

Accepted Answer

If I remember correctly, it did not come with an adapter. I do not know if that is still true for their currently shipping model.

Question 2

Is there any disk cloning software included? I want to clone my laptops bootable HDD. Going from 500GB to just under 1TB .. any known issues there?

Accepted Answer

I don't recall cloning software coming with it - I used the FREE version of Paragon Backup and Recovery Version 14.0. It is effective and worked for me. Just Google Paragon Backup and Recovery Free 14. Be sure that takes you to Paragon Software and not some clone site.

Question 3

What type of data and power connections are used with this drive?

Accepted Answer

The same data and power connectors used on a any SATA II or III hard drive. One SATA cable and one power supply connector for SATA devices. (Be aware that if your computer is old enough to be using SATA II ports, you will not get the full speed from any SATA III SSD, but they will work and still make a difference. I know, I have a SATA III SSD running in my 6 year old system.)

If you are replacing a hard drive, you would just use the cables that where connected to that. If you are adding this SSD as additional storage you may need to buy a SATA cable but will also need to make sure you have a SATA port to connect it to. You will also want to make sure you have an additional power supply connector for the SSD. (Side note: If you have more than one SATA controller on your motherboard, one being from Intel and the other from another vendor, for fastest SSD speeds connect to the Intel SATA port.)
