Lightweight design with retractable USB connector The Cruzer Glide USB Flash Drive has a sleek, streamlined design with an attractive black and red color scheme. Its compact size means it can easily slip into a front pocket or purse. The USB drive's connector retracts with a pull of the slide, protecting the drive when it's not in use.
High-capacity drive stores your essential files Available in capacities up to 256GB, the Cruzer Glide USB Flash Drive lets you carry your favorite media with you. You'll be able to store, share, and transport hours of HD video, entire photo albums, your music library, and important documents.
Fast drag-and-drop file transfer To transfer files to your drive, plug the flash drive into your computer's USB port and drag the desired files into the drive's folder. No additional software or drivers are required, so you can begin transferring and backing up your files immediately.
SanDisk SecureAccess software protects files with a password and encryption Each Cruzer Glide USB Flash Drive is preloaded SanDisk SecureAccess which lets you create a password-protected folder for your sensitive files. The password protection uses 128-bit AES encryption, so you'll be able to share your drive without sharing private documents.
Cons: Software that comes pre loaded onto the TD is of no use to me personally, but some might find it useful...so no eggs off for that.
Overall Review: I have and will purchase more of these in the future, as SanDisk has always made great products. Simple, durable and affordable for those looking for a storage device that fits in your pocket.
Pros: I loaded 6,800 songs with descriptions to use for long trips with my rv. When the radio stations keep fading out I will always have my music to take with me or just use around town.
Cons: The 2.0 usb drive is slow but I just set up pc and walk away from it and let it go.
Bought several used for bootable linux, and windows install, still work after several wipe and reimage8/3/2018 8:12:03 PM
Pros: cheap 4.99, decent capacity for price from newegg shell shocker
Cons: not the fastest, but what can you expect from usb 2.0 instead of 3.0 gen 1 or gen 2
kind of physically large compared to others, but got cheap from newegg shell shocker
Overall Review: retractable end seems to wear after a while, shinny plastic is a finger print magnet, USB 2.0 is kind of slow for install compared to 3.0 but cheap from newegg shell shocker bought 5, all still work after several rufus re-images, not really fast enough as a bootable OS as ultra fit, but then again it's 1/6th the price and 1/8th the capacity.
Cons: Being USB 2, its slow. Moreover, it breaks. I put it on my keychain to carry around. and after about 6 months, the plastic loop broke clean off. Another one I have that's as old as Moses, has a metal loop, and its been doing fine for years.
Cons: Slow speeds.. I bought this thinking I would use it for my 360, upon installing I found I couldn't load/save games nearly as quick as my 4gb drive. Almost can't play at all.
Overall Review: If you want a casual stick this one is fine, but its not fast.
Pros: Good space, and had a cheap price at 17.99 at staples during a sale this week.
You can hide the USB interface to protect it when traveling with the slider.
Cons: Slow. I bought a TDK Trans-it 16gb drive years ago online and while that drive is half the capacity, this Sandisk and a Sandisk Cruzer Facet are four times slower at MB/s write speeds, making a 4-5gb photo transfer much slower than I care to save a few dollars for.
Going back to Staples today to return them so I can buy more TDK drives.
Fat. Sticks up a good half inch further than my TDK because of it's slider feature. the chip is nowhere near that long but it sure looks it when it's on my PC.
Overall Review: Try 18 or 19MB/s for my TDK and a measly 4.3MB/s for this Sandisk, and the other small ones I tried. Bleh.
Read Speeds are on par with my TDK, if you've got 32gb of files you only want to write once (or can wait forever to write many times) go for it.
If you want to read AND write to this thing, get up and brew a few cups of coffee or cook lunch, you'll have the time.
Cons: Slow even by USB 2.0 standards. Write speed of 4 MB/s.
Manufacturer Response:
Hi Tommy K
My name is Daniel from SanDisk Support. The speed of the flash drive depends upon different factors. The factors includes the USB interface through which the flash drive is connected, the type of files being transferred and the operating system. Also, this flash drive is our entry level flash drive and doesn't have a published read/write speed.
If transfer speed is of your primary concern, you can go for SanDisk Extreme Pro 3.0, Extreme 3.0, Ultra USB 3.0 and 2.0. We suggest you to please contact SanDisk support at 1-866-SANDISK(726-3475) or submit a support request at www.sandisk.com/support for further assistance. We would be glad to assist you.
Thank you,
Daniel,
SanDisk Support
