Does the encryption software work in Linux?

Sandisk AES Encryption software is supported by Linux Operating System.  Sandisk flash drive works with Windows, Mac, and Linux Operating Systems.  So unless you have a version of Linux that does not support AES Encryption, which would be highly unusual, then Sandisk Encryption will work on Linux.

Question 2

Is the AES Encryption an option or can you store data on it without encrypting it?

Accepted Answer

The 'encryption' is software loaded on the flash drive (SanDisk SecureAccess software.) It is entirely optional to use so yes, you can store data on the flash drive without encrypting it.  Also, you can delete that software (as well as the other software on it) to gain a bit more space on the drive.

Does Encryption work on Mac OS X 10.6.8 ?

Accepted Answer

Sandisk product support indicates that their "Secure Access" encryption software is Mac compatible.

I always look at the manufacturer's product support page and FAQ for all the details, and look at the forums for any indication that a particular feature might not be working under certain conditions (like in your case, a particular version of the OS.)

You might consider doing the same thing to verify that exact OS version will support the software.

Things you can do with 128 GB Cruzer Flash Drive

1. Create Boot Disk on Flash Drive & Boot Windows.
2. Use Part of Flash Drive for Encrypted Content Only
    and another part for un-encrypted.
3. Un-encrypted data copies faster to and from Flash Drive.
4. Back up 119 GB of your Hard Drive.  Actual Capacity of
    128 GB Flash Drive is only 119 with Encryption Software.
5. Restore 119 GB of date from Flash Drive to Hard Drive.
NOTE:  Creating Boot Disk on Flash Drive does not prevent 
you from also storing data on Flash Drive in separate folders.
