Pros: Super-fast performance for a USB flashdrive.
Leaves most other brands in the dust, and the speed on reading & writing documents and other small files (like Windows operating system files) is 6 to 10 times better than competing models from Patriot or Lexar or Kingston.
Lifetime Warranty is the best you can get. Compare to other brands' 1-year to 5-year warranty.
Cons: Regular price is expensive!
Overall Review: There are several brands of high-performance flashdrives that have good speed for transferring large files and this Sandisk Extreme is among them. In addition, the Sandisk is blazing fast when working with small files and with mixed files and folders - it simply blows away other contenders.
Pros: When using USB 3.0 and a high end SSD, I can get copy rates of 170MB/s, as advertised. Gets mid 20s MB/s on USB 2.0 and HDD.
Cons: none so far.
Overall Review: It is faster to use this to transfer files between computers on my home network, than my wireless network. Ideal if you want to download a game off Steam and then copy to other computers or transfer a large amount of files to a media server. The plastic housing is much better than most other flash drives, but not as good as memory sticks that have the rubber enclosure (ex. Patriot XT).
Pros: -Super fast! I routinely transfer 300mb (and sometimes much larger) files around on a daily basis and I cannot describe how much better my life is because I have this key.
-Mechanism to cause USB port on key to appear/retract has a very pleasant, solid feel to it.
Cons: -Needed to reformat in order to store files over 4GB. Not a knock against the key itself, as this is just how it was formatted and reformatting was easily accomplished.
-Housing is somewhat larger than the 32GB Lexar I had before it, so may not easily fit into tightly-spaced USB ports. Thankfully I had enough room on most devices I use but it's something to consider.
Overall Review: -It's pricey compared to a generic key but if you transfer files between machines on a regular basis get this; you won't regret it.
-I typically work on OS X-based machines.
Overall Review: Odd. Everything I noted in my previous posts was correct.
However, I decided to reformat the drive once again and afterwards all of the S.M.A.R.T. data came up showing 100% (as new) with no retired blocks.
Additionally, the data that was previously showing the new replacement drive had only 95% life left is now showing it has 100%.
Finally, after the second reformat, the drive now benchmarks to factory specs and no longer outperforms them.
SanDisk has informed me that they only replace defective drives with new ones -- so I am at a loss to explain the original S.M.A.R.T. data and the significantly better-than-spec benchmarks (which I ran/confirmed several times), but it seems that after reformatting the drive (twice) everything is normal.
This is a strange anomaly, but SanDisk has been very accommodating so I felt I should give them the benefit of the doubt.
So as of now -- no complaints.
(In fact, I just purchased the 128GB Extreme version.)

Awesome Drive12/10/2013 10:16:20 AM
Pros: Fast transfer speeds. Durable. Ran through washing machine, still worked no defects.
Cons: None
Overall Review: It is recognized as a hard disk and not a removable drive. Depending on the use for this drive will depend which category this lies in.
Pros: ++ It's fast
++ Retractable. No cap to lose.
++ USB 3.0
Cons: None
Overall Review: ++ I personally know that you can wash it over 4 times and it will still work. :)

Very Fast but Form Factor Could Be Better5/24/2014 9:09:21 AM
Pros: Fast fast fast. I run portable apps and my other USB 3 drive was pathetic. The SanDisk is a huge improvment.
Cons: Do not care for the form factor. It is very long. I have not seen this big of a flash drive in quite some time..quite awkward in a laptop. Also I have had some difficulty with the thumb slide on it already getting stuck. I have only been using it a couple of weeks so am worried about that.
Pros: Transfer speeds are twice that of other USB 3.0 flash drives.
Sturdy Case
Cons: No Lanyard is all.
Overall Review: After trying some other brands to restore images to my Macbook I found they were taking longer than USB hard drives!
Checked around, found this one and was very happy to see the transfer time for a 28GB image cut from 34 min from the HD to 20 minutes from this stick. If you need the speed this is the one to buy!
