Can this ssd be used in a desktop pc?

Yes. The only problem you may run into is where to mount it, depending on your computer. But, it has no moving parts. As long as you're not moving your computer around, you could leave it loose. Make sure your connections are secure.

Should be able too. I'd advise you to make an image using windows 7 backup in the settings and save that elsewhere and then restore it to the ssd after the switch. That is what I did with my Asus laptop.worked great

what is the formatted capacity of this drive, i need to clone a 1TB platter drive but my cloning doc can only clone if the destination drive size is equal to or larger than the original (platter drive)?

Yes, that is before they switched to pci and we're still using data 2.5" drives. This drive happens to be 7mm in thickness so it will be compatible with just about any laptop that uses sata 2.5 drives.
