The write behavior is a bit weird: it's as if there are 2 levels of cache or a 1-level cache and then some throttling kicking in - I dunno. The first gigabyte or so of large files goes at ca. 50-60MB/s (and that's reflected in my bench at userbenchmark[dot]com/UserRun/13199392), then it drops to 20-30MB and after a few more gigs transferred it drops a bit below. Weirdly enough, I observe those 3 speed levels when connected to USB2.0 as well. I've just checked with a 2.66GB file. 20-24MB/s for about 0.5GB, then 16-18MB/s for next 0.5GB, then large oscillations from 0-15MB/s. I don't see such behavior with my 32GB UHS-1 Lexar card in a Kingston G3 reader which shows nearly the same speeds in a USB2.0 and USB3.0 port (and USB2.0 speeds are higher than Ultra Flair's).

The reads are perfectly fine. About 150MB/s with occasional drops to 50-100MB/s region on USB3.0 and ca. 30-33MB/s on USB2.0. All in all, I'm happy I bought it. Great performance for the price, it looks great and the aluminium body dissipates heat well.

One caveat... after a week or so of usage the speeds dropped drastically. Fortunately, I managed to fix it. I think it was USB Disk Storage Tool 6.0 ('correct errors' option) that got the work done.
