Question 1

Are the rumors true about this getting super hot?  I don't plan to overclock, but should I be worried about temperature?

Hey Jon,

When doing normal tasks on the computer the card is almost quiet. Doesn't seem to really run any hotter than my 7970 did. But as with most high end cards when gaming......It's pretty much a heater. It doesn't get dangerously hot but when I play a graphically demanding games the fans really start singing. However, I don't need to turn up my case fans I leave those on low. I will say this...I can run every game I play on max.. and in 4k! I was running 3x 1080p screens with this card as well all max. Don't think it can run 3 x 4k with one card. Probably be too much. It really is a great card and a smoking deal right now. Hope this helps...Cheers!!

Does this graphic card bring a 6 to 8 pin adapter? Because I see it requires 2 x 8 Pins connector and my power supply only bring 1 x 8 pin and 1 x 6 pin. Thanks

I got this card maybe a week ago and it doesn't bring an adapter. It only comes with a couple pamphlets and the driver installation CD, sorry. It's an awesome card though, worth every penny.

Does this card have a glowing Sapphire logo like the toxic edition?

No, there are no glowing logos on this card.  But it does run silent even gaming at max graphics (the most intense game I play is Far Cry and the like).

I dont have liquid cooling; only push/pull fan set up.  Yet, it still runs very quietly and cool.

Question 4

I really want this card but only have a 650W power supply. I have an AMD FX-8350 8 core 4.0 Ghz processor, 16 gigs of DDR3 ram, a 1 tb HDD and several fans in my case.... Not sure I should risk not getting the advised 750 Watt power supply. Should I?

I love playing FPS games in multiplayer and it gobbles up power and gets hot (70+). Especially BF3 & BF4 Team Death Match. I take at least a 650w psu but more assuredly, I'd want a 750w psu for added goodies I might buy later on. Buying a 2nd video card, I'd go 850w psu no questions asked. If you got the bucks, get yourself a good UPS unit as I found out the hard way.

Fits into a medium size case pretty easily. I had to take a storage compartment for hard drives out though. Lost 3 hard drive slots (wasn't using them anyway) but gained an amazing video card.

I was wondering if it wold create to much heat if I ran two of these?

I bought two of them and running crossfire and see no significant heat increase from the previous crossfire setup. Just make sure you have adequate air flow through the case, and if need be add case fans. Google will be able to be able to tell you how to set them up in a push/pull config for your case to keep a positive pressure in the case.

Another thing to consider is make sure your power supply can handle the load of the new cards as well as any new case fans.

Would Corsair 400R be a good case for this card it can hold upto 316mm (12.44 inches) of card. I know card is just under 12.44 inches but would it make wiring messier?

Can you suggest good cases if not 400R?

I have mine in a coolermaster haf xb evo and I can only have 1 card with a corsair h105 radiator mounted to the front fan slots. Absolutely no way to get another without moving the radiator elsewhere. Idk if that helps. Have to have it in the last pci slot in the corner of the case where there's a little room between the radiator fan housing and the card. Lots of room to tuck wires in that case but yeah no xfire without drilling holes and repositioning several things. If I had a single radiator instead of a dual I could mount it to the back where there is an additional fan mount but I like the dual it keeps my 4790k below 50c in the looming spring/summer heat in a room with no air conditioning. I also have the top off the case because of an unfortunate accident and that graphics card vents straight up. Never have I seen it break 72 and I ran a furmark for at least 20 mins with a decent oc. To put that into perspective my old rig had a 270x that would reach 80 playing smite. I also didn't have a radiator nor a power efficient processor.

Does this card get hot easily? (I'm thinking about getting an 8gb but there wasn't many people answering on that one.)I need to know if I need any other types of cooling before purchasing the 8gb one. It will be in a Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower.

This card has an incredibly effective cooling system on it out of the box. I run this in a Lian Li case with no tops fans, zap man flower cpu fan, and I am right around 45-50 degrees, well within tolerances. And I run Diablo 3, Witcher 3, Dragon Age, and Warcraft all at max resolution on Ultra settings. You should be just fine.

I was debating on this GPU or the MSI 390x. I know the MSI 390x will have much better performance, I'm just wondering about the cooling. (I know the Sapphire 290x's have good cooling) Not many people responded when I asked this on the 390x's page, but does anyone here know how good the cooling is?

I'd say it's got very good cooling and I'm very happy with it!

Out of the past few cards I've had (Sapphire Dual-X 7970, Powercolor PCS+ 290 and this), it's the only one that doesn't start to sound like a jet engine after playing a demanding game for 15-20 minutes.  And it seems to stay pretty cool while doing it, so I don't think that it's just a less aggressive fan profile.
