What wattage power supply do I need to run this properly?

we had a 450W supply running in the PC before purchasing the sapphire, but decided to purchase a 750W supply. 750W has been running great and might be a bit of overkill, but the price difference between a 450W to 750W supply was not that much of a difference. You won't need anything more and just might get away with a bit less, but price was very comparable so we choice the larger wattage supply in case we upgrade anything more in the future. Hope this helps as we also couldn't really find any good information. For a short time we were running the Sapphire on the 450W supply but didn't want to work the supply to its limits so check the specs of all the other components within your PC

The specifications do not include the clock rates. What is the mem clock and core clock?

the Core Clock is 925MHz but I have clocked mine stable up to 1150MHz
The Memory Clock is 1375MHz but it clock's up to 5500MHz with no problem's. for me.
I am running it with a Corsair 600W GS Power Supply and  a AMD FM1 A-6 APU. On a ASUS F1A75-M Pro. and the Mother board is not fast enough for the Graphics card. So I get Bottlenecking, and have to under clock.

Will this card fit in a HAF XB?

All the specs say that it will fit inside the HAF XB (Dimensions 17.4" x 13" x 16.7"). The card has dimensions 10.8" x 4.5" x 1.41". Just to give you an idea.

Exactly how long is this card? I'm wondering if I can get it in a mid tower.

I have it in rosewill redbone case which is mid and it fits fine. I also put it in my dell xps case which was cramped and I had to move the hdd.

If i buy this Card right now but don't like it or it does not run good, can i return it for a full refund?

There is a restocking fee of 15 percent. If it is broken you will not have a fee and get a full refund. Don't fake it as damaged because new egg will test it .

is this card a big difference from the diamond radeon hd 7870?

well I had perched a HD7950 before and it was dead on arrival, please don't let that scare you thought. its the only thing I have received that was bad from New Egg and i have gotten nine PC parts so far and it was the only thing. I have had no issues with mine or my friends HD 7970. But I tested both and also stress tested them too and as far as the two are concerned the HD 7970 was better at gaming and running the PlayStation 2 (PS2) emulator, in all between the two the HD7970 is the better. Be careful thought the HD 7970 takes A good Mother Board (MB) and a powerful Central Processing Unit (CPU), and do not use anything lower than a 500Watt Power Supply because as soon as you put any stress on the graphics card (GC). say good bye to your Power Supply Unit(PSU). I know thare not the same Graphics Cards but I hope this still helps, Jarren Bobillot

Will a 650w psu work?

A 650w psu is more than enough to run this card if you're going to run a single card. Since most games and/or programs don't utilize a second card anyways, sticking to a single card with a 650 would be good. I wouldn't go SLI or Crossfire unless you have an 800w psu or higher. This card requires 500w power supply. Having the 650w psu will allow you to throw in a sound card and some LED lights to tweak the case. Even some gauges to make sure temperatures are good.

I recently “inherited” a second Mac Pro, and now I am trying to decide which one to keep and which one to sell. Within that decision, I’m trying to decide which ‘equipment’ to swap/keep so that my keeper is the fastest and most suited to do what I need it to do.

My work requires about 50% graphic art and photo work with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, the other 50% video work on Final Cut Pro X. So there is my dilemma.

Would you be willing to give my your opinion (briefly is fine) on what you think I should do? You can feel free to edit and post this question and use it on any of you blogs or websites, no problem there, I give you total permission.

My two Mac Pro are set up fairly identically, the main difference being the video card. I know that I can by more RAM to match the two evenly in that category. I’m most interested in you what video card you would recommend.

Of course, both of these Macs have room for several more video cards, but I’ve read that combining two cards that aren’t the same wouldn’t be good.

Those two cards are fairly comparable. If you google "7970 vs gtx 680" the first link (gpuboss) will give you a good comparison of the two.

I use mine mainly for gaming so i like that the 7970 has 3gb vram... not sure how that translates to what you are working with.

I think either card would work for you. Both your setups seem fairy comparable as well. Your 2009 setup has a slightly faster processor and more ram, so maybe go with that one?
