I just upgraded from a Nvidia GTX 960 to an AMD Vega 56.  To get the most out of the Vega it would be best if the monitor supported Free-Sync.  I can not find anywhere if this monitor does?

Yes.  I do not use the Free-Sync feature,  but it does support it.  If you buy the monitor,  it's under  Menu > Game > FreeSync.

is this a good monitor for gaming?

Yes. It's responsive, reliable, and has excellent color. The only issues I've had is one has a dead pixel (out of the three I purchased) and one of the bases are slightly loose. I would still recommend it if you're going for an immersive, reliable curved monitor that doesn't cost a fortune.
