Scythe S-FLEX SFF21F 120mm Case Fan

Pros: Wow, I honestly couldn't even tell these fans were turned on when I powered them up. I bought 4 Scythe F and 3 Scythe E because I thought the F's would be too loud for not being on a fan controller.....wow was I suprised. I actually called Newegg that day and returned the 3 lower speed fans because THESE 1600rpm fans were dead silent. I couldn't even tell they were turned on until the Air started to hit my arm. They are fairly powerful and I am in love with fluid bearings now!

Cons: The 3-pin wire isn't as long as I would like, but to understand my circumstance I had to buy additional 24" 3-pin extenders.

Overall Review: If you need to plug them into a 3-pin fan controller you will def need extensions...but most fans do. Don't worry about the price, this fan will last you several computers. By the end of August I will have 1 on my processor heatsink and 7 as case fans.

Pros: High-quality, long-lasting Sony FDB. Powerful air flow rate. Very quiet considering air flow (with no hum, whine, etc). Simple, stealthy black design.

Cons: Upfront price premium, but seemingly worth it. Unsleeved cables, and kind of a mess if you just want a molex connection.

Overall Review: I have two of these so far, bought from two different outlets, and both are equally excellent and silent. (If you're on the fence about the F or G models, go with this F: it's a near-perfect mix of power and silence!)

Pros: Runs very efficiently paired with fan controller. Running at 1k rpms very quiet in my case, Antec cooler. I have 4 120 mm and 1 140mm in my case. At 1500 rpms these run a little loud.

Cons: none so far, keeps my ambient temp cool.

Overall Review: Make sure you tape your wires and plan out your intakes/outtakes before you install.

Pros: Good balance between quiet and CFM, I currently have 4 installed and together as a whole are quieter than the stock CPU fan. The volume pricing is nice.

Overall Review: I did my first build with 4 of these to replace the stock fans in the CoolerMaster Cosmos 1000 case.

Pros: S-FDB Bearing, fan is silent where all you could hear is the air going through it. Deliver as much air flow as promised, with a noise level 'lower' than listed spec!

Cons: Pricey if you buy single, but I brought 7 which get a huge discount. Not a Con.

Overall Review: I have done numerous research on PC case fans. Many companies' fans often 'lie' about their air flow vs. noise level. But Scythe actually have it better than it's own listed spec. Get a Real Fan; Get a Scythe !

Pros: contrary to what a previous person said, these fans run at the advertised 1620 rpms, both of mine are infront of an aluminum grill and they run at that speed. Keeps my computer cool when running bf2 on all maxed settings. I would definately buy again.

Cons: The fans themselves are very quiet, but when they pull the air through your case, the air inherantly makes noise. This noise is actually louder than my previous fans. Just a note though, the air is not overwhelmingly loud, and i plan on getting a fan controller anyways, so that should fix the problem.

Overall Review: why didnt i get these sooner. scythe is a great cooling company.

Pros: Excellent air-flow per dBA of noise.<BR> Usable cable length is perfect: ~12"(30cm).<BR> Fan is very well built: won't bend/twist and is hard plastic.<BR>

Cons: For this price the cable should be sleeved and have heatshrink wrap; it does not and made install more difficult than necessary.<BR> Again, for this price, I think they should also be capable of PWM speed control but they are not. They need 4-pin mobo connectors.<BR> Mine are running near the bottom end of the tolerance(1440RPM); I expected 1550 - 1650RPM; YMMV.<BR>

Overall Review: THESE ARE THE FANS TO USE WITH COOLING TUNNELS, IMO.<BR> Rating is not 5 only because of the Cons mentioned above. Consider it 4.5.<BR> I do not think there is any other fan that can match this performance-noise ratio. I have 2 installed, at full blast and cannot hear them above the typical room noise.<BR> ... If opinion changes in a few months, will update.<BR> <BR> Newegg and FedEx continue to be amazing. Ordered early Monday AM and had the fans Wed using FedEx Express Saver. <BR> Hint: pay the 3 bucks extra for same day shipping option.

Pros: It's just a fan, so why get excited about it, right? Wrong! I had an old, cheap no-name case fan that put out impressive airflow, but was so loud that it made the cicadas outside seem silent. I built a new system and decided to "splurge" on nice fans, and Wholly cow! I can actually hear other sounds again! <Newegg didn't think the proper spelling was appropriate???> Seriously these are super quiet, and they out-perform my house fans (ounce for ounce, that is). They're black--very classy in an all-black case, and they feel very solid.

Cons: Wish it came with sleeved cables, but that's nothing. Hey Scythe, could you make one of these in a 50mm size? yeah, it's not common, but the ASUS Sabretooth P67 has a hole in its armor with your name on it.

Overall Review: I have 2 of these on my Corsair H70 cooler, and I can't even hear them. I decided to get 2 more to replace the stock intake and exhaust fans on my case. Do it right and buy as many as you need all at once, since Newegg is currently offering a discount for purchasing multiples. The moral of the story: don't sweat the cost of your fans. They're not even 20 bucks so go crazy!
