The Shuriken, or throwing star, was used by the ninjas of Japan to get themselves out of tight places. The Scythe SCSK-1000 "Shuriken" is designed to help you cool in tight places. Designed for low profile PC's, the Shuriken is designed to bring large scale cooling into a small space. Only 64mm tall, it mounts a 100mm fan producing nearly 32 CFM of airflow at a library-quiet 31.67 dBA.
Scythe has brought the best aspects of thermal solutions and woven them into a compact package. Three 6mm diameter copper heatpipes snake up from the polished nickel-plated copper base and penetrate the array of convection fins mounted above the extruded aluminum base cap.
Mounted on top, the cooling fan is only 12mm thick and it has PWM functionality which allows the BIOS to lower the fan's speed – and already low noise level – for periods of reduced thermal demand. The Shuriken supports the full range of current-model AMD and Intel processors.
