loud 5/2/2018 6:24:42 AM

Pros: thin, small, moves air at low speeds.

Cons: I know it says 29db, but this is a higher pitched sound, which is always worse. Lower pitched 29db is bearable but this thing cuts through with its high pitch sounds.

Overall Review: I have it on a controller set very low. anything over 60% is annoying to hear.

Moves enough air 8/8/2011 12:16:37 AM

Pros: Moves enough air to cool a GTX465 when mounted to the stock reference cooler, idles is about 48C and load only gets to about 69C, and without it ever getting real loud, you can hear it, but not anywhere near as bad as the stock blower...

Cons: Could be quieter, but I would suspect you'd lose a lot of air flow...

Overall Review: I attached this fan to the reference GTX465/470 cooler by taking the shroud off and just using rubber bands. It keeps it much quieter and the blower is still their, but never speeds up to where you can hear it, but I doubt its doing much cuz without the shroud its air just goes everywhere...

Pros: It's *the* large diameter thin fan below 120mm. Has 100mm and 92mm screw patterns. Speed response to voltage is good. Scythe quality: no ticking, no electrical noise.

Cons: It's not magic; a thin fan will move less air at a given noise level. But if you're looking at one, you probably don't have many alternatives.

Scythe does not sell this as a PWM fan although they manufacture it as part of their 100mm low-profile CPU cooler. I know obsessive people who've bought the CPU cooler and thrown away the heatsink part....

Overall Review: Definitely a problem-solver. There may be more cable ties than screws mounting these.

Although thoughtfully shipped with hardware for attachment to a 3.5" hard drive, applications are limited; most configs are better off with a separate large fan blowing over drives rather than directly attached--or with cooler 5400rpm disks. But again, if you're in the market for this specialty product, you already decided why that wouldn't work for you.

Definitely Slim! 7/22/2010 12:00:23 PM

Pros: Definitely a slim fan! And it fit right where I needed it to fit in the Dell case I was putting it into.

Cons: Not very fast, and doesn't seem to move a lot of air. I had enough room to go a regular size fan on the thickness, and i probably should have for the amount of air movement I would have gained!

Overall Review: Put this fan on the outside of the case of a dell dimension behind the front trim, and it fit perfect where nobody notices and it sends air over the hard drives. This fan is actually designed to screw into the bottom of a hard drive, but in this case that wasn't an option. Also this fan doesn't move a lot of air so I don't know how good it would be for cooling hard drives. I just wanted a fan in the front of the case to draw air into the case.

Perfect for what I needed 3/24/2010 5:54:42 AM

Pros: - Slim design is great for tight spaces
- Relatively quiet
- Decent air movement for such a thin fan
-Includes all mounting hardware including that needed for hdd cooling.

Cons: Ugly unsleeved cables. Not a big deal though.

Overall Review: I bought two of these to cool my videocards. I have two 5770's with Thermalright heatsinks on them. The space between my cards is very small and these are the only fans that would fit. I had to get creative in mounting them, but it was worth it.

Fan 10/9/2009 11:52:48 PM

Pros: Quiet, fits, keeps things a little cooler

Cons: In my opinion, fans need to have tremendous airflow. Honestly, this fan's airflow disappoints me somewhat, but a fan is a fan is a fan...

Overall Review: really cool shape and like OVER 9000 blades
