Hello - not enough information.  Look on bottom of the laptop and get the full model number.  Probably G60-xxxxx.  Please send the full model number.  Also, this hard drive won't have any information on it.  Do you have the restore disk set?  If your original hard drive is not defective, it has your operating system on a hidden partition within it.  Send your full model number, then we can tell if your laptop will host this new hard drive.   Regards, John

I don't see one mention of anyone setting this drive up correctly to use SSD CACHING. I know the OS will NOT do that by itself, dose it not support it, ya know setting the 8gb part as a SSD CACHE. ??

No that is not possible with this drive, it's all or nothing. However, i have several of these and i really do like them. No problems or failures in like 3 years

yes, you should be able to -- - this would be a massive speed bump from your conventional drive.. boot times and general performance will likely improve by a factor of 2 or 3...
