Sega's tennis games have long had the reputation of being easy to pick up and play, but difficult to stop playing and Virtua Tennis 3 continues that tradition with incredibly rendered courts and players with Ukrainian Nikolay Davydenko, Swiss Roger Federer and the American Williams sisters among the 70 players appearing in the game who look like their real-life counterparts even at 1080p resolution.

The career mode lets you create a player and set him or her on their 20-year quest to go from 300th seed to the world's top-ranked player. Level up your tennis player at tennis school where you must accomplish a task such as finishing a point with a smash within a set amount of time. Or, take on the mini-games which each focus on one of the four aspects of tennis – serve, volley, footwork and ground stroke in a variety of ways. Enter singles and doubles tournaments and work your way up the ranks.

The play is fast-paced with controls that allow a variety of shots while remaining easy to use and the athletes will react realistically. Take on other players locally, or go online for Xbox Live-exclusive tournments as either your character, or one of the pros. Earn achievement points for winning and other tasks or watch live matches using the VT TV feature where you can even watch replays of the day's top plays. It's your serve.
