No you need to add memory and a hard drive. It uses notebook memory and a notebook sized hard drive. I use it as a router running pfsense - it works great. I have been running it 24 hours a day for over 6 months without an issue. It is a fast little machine for how little power it consumes. -Brian

Does it come with Signage application along with Signage data that can be updated via LAN - For example, weather info or news etc?

It is a bare bone system and there is no OS installed.  You will have to install OS and all the software that you will need for the signage issue.  I do not know that type of software program.

There is however a wireless Lan with internal antenna.

Yes the CPU is both a 32 bit and 64 bit compatible CPU. I currently am running Windows 8 64 bit without issues.

does the bios have compatibility to support boot from usb/ sd card instead of a hd?  reducing wieght and noise, not to mention seek time with a hd would be great.   Is there some good options and features with the dual wan compatibilty to use it was dual load?

It does support booting from a thumb dive and even a memory card. You can easily drop in a small SSD drive and boot from that.

The dual NICs gives you the ability to use the system as firewall/IDS/IPS/router. Pfsense 2.1 will not work because the NICs are Realteks. I'm not sure that Pfsense 2.2 will work with the NICs. It may work if the base OS for Pfsense, FreeBSD v10.1, will work with the Realtek NICs. Otherwise you will need to use another OS that will work with the NICs.

Remember, this system is built to run two displays, in a commercial setting.

Sure - windows 7 and Linux (most distros) address the hdmi and dvi outputs seperately and permit split screen between them.

Do these ship with memory installed? If so, how much? If not, are they preloaded with an operating system?

In other words, do I get storage for $199 or do I have to add RAM/HD and install an OS?

What are the memory volage requirements?  When I look at what memory 204 pin SO-DIMM I can buy, they come in 1.5 volt, 1.35 volt, 1.3 volt, etc.
