I forgot to mention that USB 3.0 thumb drives can also be used in either USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 sources.

USB 2.0 devices work at 2.0 speeds regardless of whether used in USB 2.0 or 3.0 sources.

But USB 3.0 devices can work up to the maximum speed of whichever source they are plugged into.
