Can this cooler or a similar one be mounted on a vertical motherboard without stressing it from the weight of the heat sink?

Yes, I had it installed in a tower case with the motherboard mounted vertically, and had no issues with it.  If you have a CPU that runs hot, I would recommend a different CPU cooler, as this one is not very efficient at removing the heat from the CPU.

Hi Bryson:

No, the EFZ-80HA3 won't fit well on the LGA 1150 socket on that board.  The specs for it indicate that it's made for LGA 775 and LGA 1155/1156 sockets.  However, SilenX makes other models that will fit.  The EFZ-80's are low profile coolers, made to fit in small cases.

I would not recommend this product. When I received this product, the fan was way out of balance, causing the entire unit vibrate badly. When I called the company the company, they would not replace the fan unless I paid for the defective fan plus shipping.

I'm looking to replace a noisy (and likely soon to fail) stock cooler on my i7-3770 (non-K version) running at stock speeds with no overclocking. This fan interests me due to its relatively small size compared to other tower coolers. Would this cooler be a good candidate? Getting lower temps would be a plus.

I have used on lower heat processor and felt that cooling was good, but the fan caused a lot of vibration so I mounted the fan on the computer case as to blow air on cooler fins . It worked well after that.  The heat pipes work well and the price is good.

Will this fan work with my Dell Dimension B 110 ?

Unfortunately, as the Dell Dimension B110 is an Intel socket 478 based platform and the motherboard is a Dell proprietary design, the aforementioned Silenx heatsink and fan will not be compatible with this system.  Also with this particular design from Dell, you will most likely be restricted to only a heatsink and fan that was designed for this system specifically.  Depending on what you are trying to repair or replace you may need to try visiting a popular online auction site to find replacement parts 2nd hand. Hope this helps. :)

Probably not, if it's standing up like that. These things are bigger than they look like in the picture. Those pavilion cases are designed to look sleek, and therefore I'd go with a cpu cooler that's not so tall.

I purchased this CPU cooler for my AMD ASRock 960GM-VGS3 FX  Socket AM3+ (942). And I am unable to mount this CPU cooler because it's side clip arms are too short to reach the mounting bracket. Is there a mounting kit I can purchase that will fit both the cooler and motherboard?

I felt at first that the clip was difficult to install until I realized that the whole base was designed like a spring. You have to push very hard to get it to lock in, harder than you will think is ok. I have removed and re-installed this cooler twice on an AM3 motherboard and have not caused any damage to the motherboard or the processor. This thing fits very tightly and works fantastic for how small it is.

Does this Fan Support FM2? More specifically the A10 5700?

Yes it will and so far no problems at all and CPU in three machines stay cool and Quite. but I did add second fan to all three it comes with the extra fan supports.

get your own I never use the ones that come with the cooler or already applied on the cooler  I use the radio shack version
