Will this work with 4 pin fans? Specifically, the Coolermaster Blade Master 92 PWM?

It will if you do not need the 4th pin, which I believe controls fan speed based on CPU temp. I am using it with two 4pin fans to cool my entertainment cabinet, however I had to cut the plug on the controller so the fan plug would fit since its wider.An exacto knife or utility knife works great. The controller works great.

Question 2

can the molex plug be used as the power-input, and then the fan 3 pins be used to power-output the fans?

i'm building a BitFenix Prodigy M micro atx rig for my gf, and would like to use the 5.25" slot for a cd tray so she can install her OS and watch movies.

with this, she could theoretically (with minor modding of course) use this as a fan controller for the few fans scattered around the case. if so, i might buy 2 of these so i can also add RAM fans and max out the the amount of case fans so she stays nice and cool.

Accepted Answer

The molex plug is only used to as power input in lieu of the included power adapter.  All fans will use the 3pin plugs.  You will need a 3pin-to-molex adapter if your case fans are only molex
