From what I understand the dram cache is a bit different than the new SLC caching, when comparing to the SLC and TLC newer standards. The SLC caching is more advanced with more of an efficient caching system.
"The A55 applies ”SLC Cache technology” with a new caching architecture that combines both SLC and TLC flash blocks. This technology enables all data to be written in the SLC section before being sequentially copied to the TLC block, and as a consequence allows for higher peak writing performance." Quoted directly from Silicon Power. What is SLC Cache? SLC refers to a type of NAND flash that stores only one bit of data per cell. It performs the simplest operation among other flash storage types; hence, it writes data at faster speeds, consumes less power and has higher endurance. Just a quick note* I have not had any issues with this drive since I have received it and put it into service, Been running hard and strong ever since. Hope that answered your question.
