Question 1

I have a 2013 Macbook Pro/retina with 256 ssd and need more storage. So I want to know about this Silcon power 240 GB thunderbolt T11 portable external SSD . They said it run's Hot ? I read pro's and con's about this unit . Trying to get more bang for the buck's :) Or a unit that has both usb3 & thunderbolt cable... what would you suggest Sir ? It get's confusing after awhile when googling this stuff. I do a lot of photography from big trips..... last one was over 9,000 digital of Chile, Argentina and Eater Island in 2013. That's why I need something to keep my Libraries in while working on them . Or would the LaCie Rugged Thunderbolt 250GB Thunderbolt be a better choice ? Looking to buy soon .

I was hesitant after reading the reviews but I didn't find any problems with this unit. Yes it's hot but don't hold it. They all have to dissipate heat and likely the more you feel, the faster it is radiating the heat. I was in a bind and bought it to clone the ssd in a late 2012 imac27 i7 after the spinning portion of my fusion drive crashed. I got about the same r/w speed as on the i7 but I think the controller on that unit is hung up on all the i/o errors on the fusion. I also hooked it up to my late 2013 macair through the tboldt port on the thunderboldt display and it pinned the r/w meters on black magic. I am quite pleased with the purchase.

Does this device have a second thunderbolt port for daisy-chaining other devices?
