Tripp Lites U207-006 USB to DB25F Parallel Printer adapter cable allows you to plug your existing DB25M-36Centronics Printer cable into a USB port on your computer, allowing for faster data transfer rates than the standard parallel connection. Bi-directional transfer capability supports USB-to-Parallel, and Parallel-to-USB communication. Fully compliant with USB 1.1...Plug-n-Play installation, no drivers to load. Lifetime Limited Warranty.
Pros: It works as advertised. I put in the driver CD, installed, connected cable, and it was up and working again, just as the others I have purchased in the past that were the Tripp Lite brand.
Cons: No-doubtly taunts the other generic manufacturers... :)
Overall Review: As far as I am concerned, Tripp Lite is the ONLY product to go with for Parallel to USB connectivity!
Before Tripp Lite got better on their pricing, I have tried other cheaper products in the past from Newegg and I learned years and years ago to go with the better product.
And now that the prices are better, there is NO reason to get something else that is going to give you trouble.
Do yourselfself a favor and buy this if that is what you are needing.
PS - I just like telling people about the 'good stuff' when I find it. Because sometimes (ok, ALOT of times...) you get someone 'green' reviewing things that supposedly are highly technical, but start discounting stars and reviews because they didn't like the color of it or something stupid like that.

A Very Mixed Review7/8/2022 2:23:13 PM
Pros: Technically, The Tripp Lite U207-006 6-FT USB to Parallel Adapter worked with my 1994 HP Laser-jet Printer both in Windows 10, and the Macintosh work station. It took several reboots in Windows 10 to get the drivers installed, but it worked, OK after that. The Mac OS recognized the adapter and worked fine. Both OSs had acceptable printer drivers for the old Laser Jet printer.
Cons: Tripp Lite only sent one of the two adapters I ordered. They did get the order for two adapters because the packing slip said 2 ordered, 1 sent. I am still waiting for the second adapter. The order was placed 14Jun2022 and was suppose to arrive by 22Jun2022. It is now 11Jul2022, and I am still waiting for the second adapter.
Overall Review: Technically the product works fine. I am not pleased with Tripp Lite's on-time delivery or service.
installing printer after hooking up cable4/28/2015 8:45:35 AM
Pros: This cable did not work at first but I went on line to research it and found the following:
1. connect usb to parallel port adapter and wait for its driver installation
2. Add Printer -> Add local printer -> Use existing port USB001 (Virtual Printer Port for USB)
3. Choose HP, then press Windows Update button
4. Wait up to several minutes, then you should have your printer at the list
5. Choose your printer from the list
6. Install
7. Use your printer :-)
REMARK: by the end of installation process computer asks if you want to print the test page - it hasn't worked for me, but afterwards everything works fine.
I installed an old HP 6L and it works fine!!
Overall Review: I admit I was optimistic in trying to use this cable to connect an old HP 6L printer. I tried a Win XP computer--nothing. Then I hooked it to a Win 7 computer--nothing. I hooked up the USB first, as others have suggested, then connected the printer cable to the Trip lite cable.

Watch out - not a PRINTER cable2/21/2014 8:04:48 AM
Pros: thin, seems quality
Cons: NOT a printer cable--this is a parallel printer adapter--which means you will also need a printer cable (that has the correct end for the printer) to attach to it. It is what it says--but I didn't catch it. Now I have TWO cables to connect (tacky), where I though I would drop the thick and bulky cable--now I have both. But the cable itself if fine--but again, note the end.
Pros: It works as advertised. I put in the driver CD, installed, connected cable, and it was up and working again, just as the others I have purchased in the past that were the Tripp Lite brand.
Cons: No-doubtly taunts the other generic manufacturers... :)
