Aluminum USB/1394/Audio Panel ( Black )

Pros: Custom server case only has a light up power switch on the front(plus single 3.5" and 5.25" external bays). New customer needed at least USB up front.

Cons: VERY tight fit into the 3.5 bay. Scrapped a lot of paint and a bit of metal off the sides of the bracket. Thick, yet soft aluminum. Stripped 2 screws, on opposite sides, securing into the bay. It won't move anyway as tight of a fit is it.

Overall Review: Does anyone still use firewire? The current system doesn't have USB3 so no loss here. If your case only has USB3.0 up front, this would add easy access to USB headers. Not really a fan of USB hubs.

Pros: Fits in the 3.5" bay, easy to install and no drivers required. The black finish looks good in my case.

Cons: Individual cables for each of the four USB ports, it could have been designed better.

Overall Review: Works good for what I needed, my case had no audio ports up front and the USB ports are hard to get to because of the design of my case, this is a good solution.

Pros: Offers a good combo of ports.

Cons: Over time and regular use (which wasn't excessive at all), the USB ports on the front fell apart. Plastic pieces inside were coming out with my USB cables. Sparks were visible when my cables' metal parts touched the ports eventually.

Overall Review: I wish Newegg offered other alternatives with the same specs as this item, because I need a new one, and I hesitate to buy the same brand.

Pros: This front panel USB is awesome. I now have two. Quality, powder-coat finish. Solid jacks and USB ports, firm feel. Every mobo plug in (USB, Azalia, 1394) is a block, not those silly single pins. Fits perfect in 3.5 bay in toolless case.

Cons: It's not free.

Overall Review: This product is very solid and should be more expensive than it is.

Pros: Simple, easy to install.

Cons: Only thing that even comes close to a flaw is that I had trouble putting the plugs in for the mic/headphones. I had to put some major pressure on it to the point where I thought I'd break it to get them in. It's fine now though after I got them in.

Overall Review: Someone said that the headphone plugs won't automatically turn off the speakers, and no, they don't. But there is on option on whatever your audio config program to have that (on my Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer there is at least).

Pros: Works as it should. Not to pricey

Cons: Does not come with a 5 1/4 bay adapter plate

Pros: Cheap alternative to failed ports or for older cases which don't have front jacks.

Cons: Lousy construction. Not meant to last nor for a gamer. I bought this to replace a failed audio connector on my case. After a few months, the audio jacks loose connection. Either the mic on my headset goes out and nobody can hear me on voice communication software, or I can only hear out of one side (Left or Right) of my headphones (ANNOYING)! I bought a second one to replace the first and everything worked good again for the first few months and then the same problem. The audio jacks aren't meant to last on this thing at all. If this thing wasn't meant for HD audio (Plug in your headset your speakers turn off, unplug your headset to switch back to speakers) why did it include the jacks?

Overall Review: There are other alternatives out there, none at this price point however. I guess the saying holds true, you get what you pay for. The audio jacks on this are not meant for plugging your headset in and out at will and definitely won't last.

Pros: I like the Aluminum Face instead of Plastic. I had some trouble with the USB wiring because they have a USB shield Pin on them and I plugged them in the extra 5th pin. These work ok without the Shield pin, but Silverstone should adopt the 5/4 Pin Block Wiring Config on these so that Two USB Ports can be combined into 1 port. (So essentially for my Motherboard you would really only need two wires for each port. I suggest you don't do this because the USB Might not work. Just plug in the 4 pins into the motherboard as per outlined in your Motherboard Manual.

Cons: Audio Jacks don't seem to work with my Asus M4A78 Pro Motherboard. Could be a wrong wiring configuration. I don't have Firewire on this Motherboard so kind of hard to test out the Firewire.

Overall Review: If you want 4 USB Ports in one of the 3 1/2 Bays which is what I bought it for it works just fine. Just make sure you hook it up right.
