Some Notes About Painter's Tape
- Suitable for paint masking at room temperature, spraying at room temperature, stitching, color separation and handwriting marking.
- Not suitable for high-temperature painting, baking, electronic components, automotive spraying and other places where high temperatures are generated.
Tips for use by art students:
- Be careful to wait for the paint to dry before removing the tape, and be careful to remove it slowly at a diagonal angle.
- Since the tape is sticky, you can apply it a few more times on a clean and flat area before use to reduce some of the stickiness so as not to tear the paper.
Tips for using spray paint and masking:
- Flatten and straighten the tape when applying it, and smooth it out by hand after applying it, especially on the sides. Avoid air bubbles due to uneven tape and contact surfaces, or paint spillage due to uneven edges.
- When the paste area is large, the splices should be overlapped and covered to avoid ink penetration to the sides.
- Incorrect operation demonstration: Paint spills easily at the interface.
- Demonstration of correct operation: Overlap the tapes by about 5mm to avoid ink penetration from the edges.
- After spraying, wait about 10-20 minutes for the paint to dry on the sprayed surface and then slowly peel off the tape at a 45 degree angle.
Precautions for the use of painters tape:
- Tear off the tape as soon as possible after the spray paint dries; the tape should not be left on for too long to avoid damaging the wall.
- When removing the tape, peel it slowly upwards at an angle of about 45 degrees along the paste to avoid damaging the wall surface with too much force.
- The best time to tear off the tape is after the paint dries. The tape should not be pasted for a long time, so as to avoid weathering of the paint tape, resulting in paper degradation and becoming brittle and cannot be torn off. In particular, the tape exposed outdoors to direct sunlight or rain impact is prone to weathering and degradation.
