When you grab ahold of this Cyber-shot WX9 digital camera, everything in sight becomes your subject. With advanced features like an "Exmor R" CMOS sensor for outstanding low-light performance and Background Defocus mode for DSLR-like, blurred-background results, this compact camera amazes with incredibly sophisticated photos that just beg to be framed or posted to your profile. You can even shoot HD video clips and 3D photos. Who said you couldn't have it all?
Great Low-light ShotsSometimes a flash can wash out a scene and make it hard to authentically capture the mood of the moment. For low-light environments, the back-illuminated "Exmor R" CMOS sensor delivers stunning performance and increases sensitivity by 2x to reduce noise. Shots from a night out on the town never looked better.
Amazing HD MoviesShoot beautiful HD movies then burn them to DVD. By recording in the AVCHD format, you can transfer full 1080i clarity and smooth motion video to disc then play it on your Blu-ray Disc player or PS3 system. Create an entire library of memories in high definition. Movie files are limited to 29 minutes each.
Shoot in Immersive 3DCapture still images—plus vast scenic vistas and 16:9 shots—in spectacular 3D. As you sweep across the panorama, the camera records separate right-eye and left-eye images that make landscapes come alive on your compatible 3D TV or 3D-enabled VAIO computer.
Effortless Panoramic ShotsIntelligent Sweep Panorama HR mode reaches beyond the traditional wide angle lens to let you capture expansive, breathtaking shots of landscapes or cityscapes in incredibly detailed high resolution. Just press the shutter and pan the scene with a sweeping motion. The camera takes care of the rest—to spectacular results.
Background Defocus Made EasyTo place more emphasis on your subject, try blurring out the background. Equipped with Background Defocus mode, the WX9 delivers this signature DSLR benefit by taking two shots, identifying the background and applying a digital defocus. With background noise on mute, your subject is free to shine with the crispness and clarity it deserves.
Incredible ContrastFrom portraits to action shots, landscapes to close-ups—there's beauty in the details. With a built-in backlight correction feature, this camera intelligently analyzes the image and adjusts its settings automatically. The result? A perfectly-lit shot every time.
