Building on the success of last year's version, NBA 08 for the PSP combines the best basketball action on the PSP with addictive basketball-themed mini-games in a package that complements the console versions. Practice your skills in the shoot around and free throw modes, or take on other teams in exhibition, play-off and the deep season mode which will have you managing the team on and off the court. The three-color shot indicator – first used on the PS2 version – helps you determine just when your best opportunity is to sink that shot.

Mini-games such as Horse, Dodgeball and Pinball – now with downloadable tables - are joined by Fast Break and Elimination. The Conquest mode lets you take it to the streets for control of a team and its area. Back on the court, the upgraded graphics include additional animations for dives and leaps as well as loose balls.

In-game commentary and end-of-game highlight reels return as well. Online pickup and exhibition games for up to 12 players, along with the ability to download your team roster from the PS3 mean that you're never far from a game – even when you're on the road.
