Supreme Ruler 2020 Gold is a PC geopolitical strategy game that bundles the base game with the Global Crisis expansion, suited to players who enjoy managing countries through political, diplomatic, economic, and military decisions.
Recommended For
- Players who want to run a country across economics, domestic policy, diplomacy, research, and military affairs—not just command battles—will find the game’s broad geopolitical simulation relevant.
- Experienced strategy players who enjoy studying complex systems and making detailed economic and military decisions are a better fit than players seeking a guided introduction; reviewers describe a steep learning curve and substantial micromanagement.
- Sandbox-minded players who want to choose a region and set their own goals—such as developing a country or pursuing military expansion—can use the game’s customizable sandbox and wide choice of regions.
- Players comfortable with an older, data-heavy strategy interface may appreciate the large-scale map and broad simulation, provided they are willing to work through its presentation and management demands.
