I use both sizes also and have not had a problem loading them. My only problem is that it is too powerful for anything under abot 10 or 12 sheets. It pushes the staple trough the first two sheets. It is a great stapler for what it is intended to do, that is staple 20 plus sheets. Sorry i can't help with your loading problem.
