is this a two color printer?

This is a direct thermal printer, this printer will only print in 2 color if the thermal paper used supports 2 colors.  As the 2 color thermal paper is no longer available from any supplier - the true answer is this is a 1 color print printer.

Do you know if this can be used with square?

Hi...yes it works with the square stand that I bought.  It worked right out of the box. Once u plug it in, square will recognize the printer. Make sure you register your product for the warranty. .. You have 30 days to register. Instruction should be in the box or call customer service for directions. ...good luck, you'll love it like I do.

P.s. make sure to follow instructions in the CD for complete use of printer

Where the heck do you find the paper and ribbons for this printer? Having a hard time doing so.

I'm an idiot. Kinda forgot this was a thermal printer and doesn't have ink or ribbon or toner.  ;)
Ok but paper, do I have to use star micronics paper or can I run to office depot.

Between the TSP143U and the TSP143ECO, which one is the better of the two, or are they basically the same?

its simply the newer version, it goes into a low power mode between prints, it is still very fast and we have had no issues with it at all.
