Sorry I took so long to answer, but I've been having a little Win 7 problem with an Asus/AMD quad-core that the Windows installation (16 months ago) failed to correctly recognize the RAID 1 array and and when attempting to adjust the volume sizes crashed the whole mess.  Anyway, there are no mounting holes on the bottom of the StarTech 35FCREADBK3  USB 2.0 22-in-1 Card Reader, it is made to mount in a 3.5" floppy/flexy drive bay. It has the mounting holes possitioned the same as a floppy drive unit for an exact fit. It can also be mounted in a 5.25" drive bay using a 3.5" to 5.25" drive mounting adapter and re-manufacturing a 5.25" drive bay blank plate. I hope this helps, I've been using StarTech products for over 8 years and they have not failed me yet.

Question 3

Bought a StarTech 35FCREADBK3 3.5" Multimedia Card Reader and installed it into my desktop.  SUppose to be Plug n Play since it does not come with device driver.

Not Plug n Play... The Player does not work since it says there is no driver.  What do I do now?

Make sure the card reader is properly connected to the motherboard USB header. Barring that, the card reader should work only when there is a card inserted. It is fully supported by Windows Vista and later Linux 2.6.20 and later. Windows XP will recognize it, but won't support latest cards like sdxc. If the reader is connected properly, and the motherboard usb is functioning and you have a supported operating system, consider the reader dead and rma it.

Is there an external enclosure this can go into? I am not able to find one

Question 5

Is the USB slot on this upside down?  In my current card reader the slot is upside down, and when I plug in my thumbdrive that has LEDs on it the LEDs wide up facing the floor.

In the picture it appears to be in the correct position. (right side up). On the actual unit I ordered, it is indeed upside down.

Will this work with win 10?

I have Windows 10 and it works just fine with it. I haven't had any problems.

Question 7

Do any of the LED's stay on while not using this device?
And also, are the LED's lit while the computer is off?

The Green led is always on for me, even when PC is shut down. Which seems a little odd to me but it works just fine!

Anyone know does this card reader LED still on even the PC is power down?

It shouldn't unless you have your mobo set to power on usbs or you have something that is powered and it's back feeding your system

Could anyone tell me how long the IDC USB cable is for this product? It seems like it is a little short.  If it turns out to be short does anyone know if there is any type of extender cable for IDC? Thanks!

I have this at the top front of a full size tower with the MB at the lower rear and the connectors and the lower rear of the MB as far away as possible from the drive. It reaches just fine.
