Pros: Clearly marked for easy installation.
Cons: None that I can see.
Overall Review: Some reviewers commented that the wires are a bit short. For anyone who may be concerned by this, the wires on the switches and LED's are about 20" long.
Pros: Does the job.
Overall Review: Used this for an open case rig simply for the power cord.
Plugged it in, pushed the button, power came on. Voila. I've bought 5 and all work flawlessly.
Pros: 1. Comes with everything stated, 5 twisted cable pairs: 3 LEDs, 2 switches.
2. Everything comes in a nice little plastic zip-lock bag.
3. Works great!
Cons: No cons that I noted.
Overall Review: The Power LED has a 3-pin plastic connector, where only the outside slots are used leaving a gap in the middle. This conflicted with my mini ITX motherboard, which had the Power header pins side-by-side, with no gap between them.
It was easy enough to switch around the contacts on the plastic connector by using an exacto knife to lift up the small plastic tab enough to slide out the metal contact. I did this to both, and repositioned them so that it worked fine.
Pros: Essential for swapping mb's with proprietary front panel connectors
(Dell) and still use the case.
StarTech deserves kudos for providing this kit.
Pros: It is a bag of cables with headers, LEDs, and pushbutton switches attached.
Header ends of cables are clearly marked with "use".
Cons: Power LED cable has an older style 3-pin header and not a more modern 2-pin header. Not worth taking off a star because the included "sleep" LED cable has a 2-pin header, but a yellow LED. Most modern computer cases don't have a separate "sleep" LED anymore so the "tradeoff" is fine with me.
Overall Review: Nice to have 3 cables with LEDs in the following mix of headers: 2 of 2-pin type and 1 of 3-pin type. Like having a spare LED cable since most computer cases only have 2 front panel LED positions.
Would buy again if I need more.
Pros: Everything works.
Cons: It would be better if the unused switch pins were not exposed.
Overall Review: The switches are double pole double throw, but only two pins are wired.
I thought the three connector plug was odd, until I realized that I needed it for the sleep LED on one of my computers.
Pros: Updating my 15 year old Dell Dimension 2400 family computer. It already has standard uATX mobo and ATX PSU mounting points - the only problem was the case LEDs and power switch with proprietary mobo connector. Well these switches and LEDs snapped right into the green Dell bracket and converted the case to standard connectors! No soldering required!
Cons: The LEDs used in this kit are all standard size, some cases use mini LEDs. I was able to squeeze a standard LED into the mini LED bracket so no issue this time.
Overall Review: I wish I had known about these last year when I threw away a case that had a broken power switch - this would have fixed it. I will be keeping a spare set of these on-hand.
Overall Review: This isn't the sort of item for which one writes a detailed review. This is more of the pass/fail category of items. I purchased this kit to use in building computers in non-standard cases, and it is fitting the bill adequately.
