Great at 1080p, but does not work with Korean single-input 1440p monitor12/11/2014 4:13:14 PM
Pros: This is an update to my original review, where I rated it 5 eggs.
This adapter still works perfectly on my 1080p monitors which lack a Displayport port, enabling me to use the Displayport output on my video cards in addition to their HDMI and DVI outputs, so despite my somewhat negative review title, I am still giving it 4 eggs.
Cons: Only supports up to 1920x1200 resolution, since it outputs a single link DVI signal - from the specs: "Connect a DVI monitor to a single-mode DisplayPort output from your computer".
My Korean (or any) 1440p monitor requires a dual link DVI signal or equivalent, so do not buy this adapter expecting it to work with one.
Even setting monitor resolution to 1920x1080 manually does not work (at least for me).
Overall Review: Since the limitations are stated in the specs, I shouldn't really complain about it not working with my 1440p monitor. I bought it before I owned the latter, and it still works flawlessly with my other monitors. It would be nice if the product title indicated the 1920x1200 limit, or single-link DVI spec somewhere, though.
Overall Review: same as cons
This is for people browsing for Active Adapters
Passive means that if you want 3+ monitors as try to use this adapter - it will not work
You have to get an active adapter for that
Cons: Wouldn't play through my HDMI switch (built into Onkyo receiver)
Overall Review: Was able to hook my Lenovo W520 up to my plasma TV to HDMI via the DisplayPort (DP+). The nvidia driver recognized that I plugged it in and made the TV a mirror of the 1600x900 LCD on the laptop. With the the docking station, you might be able to have extended mode and an full 1080i or 1080p to TV, but I could not with my setup
Finally, an adapter for my 1440p monitors that just works.7/7/2017 1:28:52 PM
Pros: - It is actually a genuine active dual-link DVI connection
- And it actually works
Cons: None, I'd say the price and need for a USB port but there really are no other alternatives for these options.
Overall Review: In 2011 I bought two gorgeous Korean off-brand 1440p IPS monitors that only support active dual-link DVI, and since upgrading from my old 7970 I have had nothing but trouble finding connectors for the second one. My new 1080 TI doesn't even have a single one now, so I had to find another adapter and refused to buy the trash that I have bought before. This one had good reviews and despite the price I took the chance, and I am so glad I did. This one really, truly works and I have had no issues with it whatsoever. I even bought a second one.
Pros: Not too expensive, works with EVGA GTX 750 Ti FTW w/ ACX, Seems well put together, DVI end accepts DVI-I cables
Cons: None
Overall Review: I purchased this for a dual 24" monitor setup. Both monitors are Sceptre X24WG's and have DVI-I or VGA inputs only. I run them at the native resolution of 1920 x 1200. The EVGA GTX 750 Ti has only one DVI output to go along with an HDMI and a DisplayPort output. I purchased this to run the second screen with the DP output. Plugged it in, installed the drivers for the new card and it worked. Couldn’t have been much easier.
I have DVI-I cables. I've seen adaptors that can only accept a DVI-D cable. This adaptor will allow you to use a DVI-I it that is what you have.
Pros: Well - it mostly does what it says. It works for a direct connection between a DisplayPort and HDMI connection monitor.
Cons: Does not work so well when you throw something else in the middle, like a KVM switch. I bought an Iogear GCS62HU 2-Port HDMI KVM to work between my home rig and work laptop, but I could not get this to work with the specified max resolution of 1920x1080. I thought this was possibly due to the KVM itself, since hooking up the adapter direction to the monitor worked. However, when I purchased a different adapter brand, the connection worked through the KVM as well.
Overall Review: This works fine if you are going directly the monitor, but if you you have any switch or KVM in between just be aware this adapter may not work.
Pros: Allows me to run 2560x1440 monitor from my T520 Displayport.
Cons: Remember this is an active converter. You need a USB port to power it.
Overall Review: I have the Quadro card option. Not sure integrated video can drive 2560x1440.
Monitor is Korean QNIX QX2700 matte, $350. Plain but works with excellent picture.

Works Great!12/31/2015 5:42:33 PM
Pros: Able to run at 144hz
Cons: Had to plug the 2 power adapters into separate USB channels to make it stable and not flicker during gameplay.
