Will this adapter allow screen display from my computer to my TV screen used as a monitor? I have a VGA to HDMI approach to this but found the HDMI to VGA (opposite direction) won't allow a signal (so the directions say)

I will start by saying this is the wrong adapter, Display Port and HDMI are two different ports / standards. However I use a StarTech HDMI to VGA adapter which I take from a display port (typically a Dell Precision) to a VGA monitor frequently. So if you have an HDMI port on your computer, and a VGA input on your TV then technically it should work, however HDMI to VGA will NOT allow the audio to go to the TV. HDMI to HDMI would be your best option if the TV has an HDMI port. If you are trying to go from VGA on your computer to HDMI on your TV I don't think there is an adapter for that.

I have an old Panasonic LCD projector with RGB input, but also S-video and a yellow video in plug. Will this work to use the projector with a newer computer with USB?

No.  This requires a DisplayPort from your computer.  If the projector has a VGA out and your PC has DisplayPort in, then this adapter is suitable.

No, display port (DP) and HDMI have different connectors.  This will not work to adapt HDMI to VGA.

Is this device supported on a HP 15T TouchSmart Laptop?

Any system that has a displayport out on it would be compatible with this device.  Do some reading to confirm you understand the difference between video port types (VGA vs DVI vs HDMI vs DisplayPort), and then verify which port is on your system.  If you have a DisplayPort video out on your machine, and need to hook it to a VGA monitor or projector, this is exactly the right item.

Can these be used for dual montors on Lenovo M83s?

Yes they can.  That's the same model of PC we use at our organization and I bought these for dual displays.

I don't have the exact measurement but its about 10 to 12 inchs long, its a short adapter cable.

No external power adapter; it just plugs into the DisplayPort.
