Primarily intended for use in servers running AMD Opteron processors, the StarTech FANOPT1U cooling fan also provides a low profile cooling option for other AMD CPU's. Its 4000RPM 70mm fan features a dual ball bearing design and it draws 25.6CFM of air at a 36 dBA noise level.
It’s coupled with an all-copper heatsink to maximize heat dissipation. A TX3 connector plugs directly into the motherboard to provide power to the fan as well as allowing the system to monitor and control the fan's speed and operational status and reduce the fan's speed during off-peak usage.
In addition to supporting Opteron socket 939 processors up to 85W, the FANOPT1U is also compatible with socket 940 Opteron CPUs including the dual core models up to 95W.
